How to collect fan videos from your concert

Updated 1 November 2026

The easiest way to collect fan videos from your concert is to give fans one link where they can upload what they filmed, and to tell them about it at the show and right after it. Fans open the link on their phone, pick the videos from their camera roll and send them. You get every file in one place, sorted by show, instead of hunting through tags, DMs and group chats.

Why not just ask fans to tag you?

Tags and reposts work for reach, but they are a poor way to collect footage. A tagged story disappears after a day. A video posted on social media is compressed, often cropped, and has stickers or text on top. And you only see the fans who post at all. Many people film a whole set and never share it anywhere, because nobody asked.

An upload link asks them directly. It also means you get the file itself, which you can keep, edit and post again with permission from the person who filmed it.

How does it work with aftershow?

  1. Make your page. Pick your name and you get your own address, aftershow.io/yourname. Fans land there and see your shows.
  2. Add the show. Each event gets its own upload page at aftershow.io/yourname/event-name, plus a QR code you can download from the event in your dashboard.
  3. Share it. Put the link in your bio and stories, post it after the show, or show the QR code on stage.
  4. Get the videos. Fans upload videos and photos straight from their phone. They do not need an app or an account. You can watch and download everything in your dashboard, show by show.

When should you share the link?

The best moments are when fans still have their phones in their hands and the show is fresh:

  • Near the end of the set, from the stage or on the screen, with the QR code visible for a minute or two.
  • In a story or post the same night, while people are on the way home and scrolling through what they filmed.
  • Again the next day, for the fans who were too tired to do it right away.

Saying it out loud helps more than you might think. A short "send us your videos from tonight, the link is in our bio" tells fans that you actually want their footage.

Can you get fans' emails at the same time?

Yes, if you want to. You can turn on email collection, and fans then leave their name and email when they upload and can join your list. You decide when to ask and which fields to show. If you would rather keep the upload as quick as possible, leave it off.

How do you keep spam out?

You can turn on a captcha for your upload pages, so only real people can send files. You can also close uploads for an event once you have what you need. Anything you do not want, you can delete. It goes to a bin first, so you can bring it back if you change your mind.

What does it cost?

The Free plan covers 1 event with 1GB of storage and files up to 500MB each, including your own page, the QR code and fan email collection. If you play a lot, Pro is $19.99 a month for unlimited events, files up to 5GB each and 100GB of storage. All plans are on the pricing section of the home page.

A few small tips

  • Make one event per show, so footage from different nights never gets mixed up.
  • Keep the daily email about new uploads switched on (it is on from the start), so you know when files come in without checking every day.
  • Thank the fans who send videos, and credit them when you repost. It makes others more likely to send theirs.
