Answers to the questions artists ask most

Getting started

Set up your account and first event in minutes.

How do I create my first event?

  • Sign in and open Dashboard → Events.
  • Click “Create event”, set the city/country, and add a short description.
  • Share the generated link or QR code from the event page to start collecting uploads.

How do my artist URLs work?

Your artist page lives at aftershow.io/yourname. Events are at aftershow.io/yourname/event-name and your overview/live hub is at aftershow.io/yourname/live. Every QR code and share link uses that path-based URL so your branding stays consistent.

Do fans need an account to upload?

No. Fans can upload directly from the event link or QR code without creating an account. You can optionally require email or captcha before they submit.

Uploading & files

Keep uploads smooth and organized.

What file types and sizes are supported?

Common video and image formats (MP4, MOV, HEVC, HEIC, JPEG, PNG) are accepted. The max file size depends on your plan limits; uploads respect your per-IP and storage quotas.

Can I tag videos with songs?

Yes. Add your songs in the dashboard, then tag files by song. With song recognition enabled, we attempt to auto-tag uploads for you.

How do I recover deleted files?

Deleted files move to the Bin in the Files tab. You can restore or permanently delete them from there unless storage cleanup has already run.

Do uploads get scanned for malware?

All uploads are scanned with ClamAV. Suspicious files are quarantined and marked so you can review them safely.

Dashboard & analytics

Track uploads, fans, and storage.

Where do I see upload activity?

The dashboard shows latest uploads, storage usage, and upload trends. For deeper detail, open the Files tab for previews and filtering, or Events → select an event for per-event activity.

How do QR codes work?

Each event gets a QR code that points to your upload page. You can download the QR from the event view and place it on posters, screens, or wristbands.

Can I download everything at once?

Yes. Use the Files page to bulk download filtered results, or go to an event and use the download action to export that event’s uploads.

Billing & plans

Storage, limits, and upgrades.

What happens when I hit my storage limit?

Uploads pause when you reach the plan quota. Free up space by deleting files (and emptying the bin) or upgrade your plan in Dashboard → Subscription.

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Visit Dashboard → Subscription to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. Changes apply immediately; scheduled downgrades take effect at the next billing date.

Do you support invoices and tax receipts?

Yes. Stripe emails receipts automatically. You can download past invoices from the Subscription page.

Security & privacy

Protect artists and fans by default.

Is email verification required?

Yes. New artist accounts must verify email before accessing uploads. Password resets and email changes also require a verification token.

How do you handle consent and DMCA?

Uploaders must accept your terms before submitting. We provide DMCA, privacy, terms, and impressum pages out of the box. You can export user data for GDPR requests.

Can I restrict uploads by IP or captcha?

Yes. Enable captcha, email collection, or per-IP upload limits in the Upload settings to reduce spam or abuse.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for common hiccups.

Uploads are stuck or very slow

  • Ask fans to switch to Wi‑Fi and keep the tab open until the green success state appears.
  • Try smaller batches (the uploader supports chunked uploads, but very large files may need more time).
  • Check your storage limit; if full, clear space or upgrade.

My QR code is not working

Re-download the QR from the event page to ensure it uses the current event URL. If you changed your artist URL recently (e.g., aftershow.io/yourname), older QR codes will no longer point to the right page.

Email notifications are missing

Verify your email is confirmed, check spam, and confirm the upload digest frequency in Settings. If you use a custom sending domain, make sure DNS records are correct.
